Relying
heavily on theater and other participatory forms of activism, students
in this course will learn how to engage the Western Oregon University community in areas
concerning consent and interpersonal violence such as sexual assault,
dating violence, and stalking. This knowledge can be taken out into the community for the purpose of creating social
change.
Participation in this course will help students collaborate with peers in an effort to promote sexual wellness at WOU, while simultaneously exploring aspects of privilege and oppression in our individual lives and our culture.
Instructors: Ted deChatelet (WOU Theatre Department) & Andrea Hugmeyer (TRI/Abby's House)This course is supported by the WOU Campus Against Sexual Assault (WOU CASA) grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women Award #2010-WA-AX-0013.
