TRI-CDC celebrated the Week of the Young Child (WOYC)

Mar 20, 2014

Children and teachers from the lady bug class

The WOYC is a national celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children to focus public attention on learning opportunities for young children, their families and educators and other professionals who serve them.

Throughout the week, children from the TRI-CDC participated in a variety of activities focusing on physical fitness, Yoga, nutrition, hygiene, and dental health. Our goal is always to promote stronger prevention efforts, healthier environments, and better access to health care in the community. We sent home family resources, activities and information to enable families to join in our efforts of promoting healthy habits

Little explorers

The Ladybug classroom is a morning classroom for children ages 30 months to 5 years. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children develop a variety of skills and knowledge in areas like early literacy, mathematics, science, Spanish and social skills.

Our schedule allows for outdoor time, both large and small group activities as well as independent learning.  This gives your child the opportunity to learn how to work together, take turns, and share.  All these activities together help your child prepare for kindergarten.

We value our family partnerships both in and out to the classroom.  If you have the opportunity to join us throughout the day please do so, you’re always welcome.

The head teacher in the Lady Bug classroom is Aimee Anderson. Aimee joined the TRI-CDC teaching team as a WOU student volunteer and over the course of a few years became the lead teacher of the Ladybug classroom. Her special interest is in sharing the excitement of Science with preschoolers. The favorite part of her day is teaching a child something new and then seeing them light up when they understand and apply it to their lives.
