Technology Specialist

Mike Bicknell is a Technology Specialist for the National Center on Deaf-Blindness. His focus for NCDB is messaging, social media, video/audio, photography, accessibility for people with disabilities, and usability for all. Mike has worked at the Washington State School for the Blind as their Digital Research and Development Coordinator, at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Outreach Programs as their Media/Web/Distance Learning Specialist, and as a published freelance photographer and videographer. From the University of Texas at Austin, he earned two degrees: (1) Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Sociology and a strong bent towards diversity studies; (2) Master of Arts in Journalism with a focus on Photojournalism and an interest in documentary video.
