Afterschool practitioners play an important role in supporting kids’ literacy development. In this session participants will learn about the stages of literacy development in kindergarten through 3rd grade as supported by Common Core State Standards, practice techniques for reading aloud and identify and practice literacy-based activities that are appropriate for K-3 students in out-of-school time settings.
