After a successful presentation on Oregon’s QRIS at the 2014 National Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development in Minneapolis, TRI staff members Robyn Lopez Melton, Pat Aldrich and Tom Udell have been invited to repeat the presentation at the Quality Rating and Improvement Systems National Meeting July 23-25, 2014 in Denver. Titled The portfolio approach: A cost-effective measure for evaluating program standards, the content focuses on the use of a portfolio system for documentation of standards as a cost effective approach.

The use of portfolios to evaluate child care programs is unique to the Oregon QRIS and is being developed and tested by Oregon’s QRIS staff at Teaching Research Institute’s Center on Early Learning. After participating in the presentation in Minneapolis, Debi Mathias, Director of the QRIS National Learning Network with the BUILD Initiative, asked the team to repeat the presentation.

TRI Staff are excited about this opportunity to share what has proven to be an effective and engaging process.
